Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
This policy explains what information Hearthfield ("we", "us") collects through playhearthfield.com and the Hearthfield game, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- When you get in touch on our website: your email address, whether you're a player, content creator, or press, any message you choose to write, the approximate country your request came from (based on your IP address), and when you contacted us.
- When you email us directly: your email address and whatever you include in the message.
- When you play through Steam: Steam handles your account, purchases, and payment. We may receive your Steam ID and display name so co-op sessions, friends, and saves work. We never see your payment details.
- Technical data: our hosting provider automatically processes basic request data, like IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We don't use advertising trackers on our website and we don't sell your information.
How we use it
- To reply to you and send a confirmation when you get in touch.
- To send occasional emails you'd expect from us, like playtest invitations or early keys for creators and press. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To run the game's online and co-op features, fix bugs, and keep the game fair and secure.
- To protect our website and services from spam and abuse.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run Hearthfield, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare hosts our website and stores contact submissions.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Valve (Steam) distributes the game and runs your Steam account under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our players and ourselves.
How long we keep it
We keep contact information until you ask us to delete it or it's no longer needed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and keep only what's needed to honor that choice.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link in any email. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, and California, you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them.
Children
Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has contacted us, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no service online can be perfectly secure.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on our website or Steam page.
